To the Wild Woman,
Being Spiritual means,
Whispering to the trees,
Laughing with flowers,
Falling in love with sunsets,
Consulting the waters,
And worshipping the stars at night
One hand to her heart other touching mother earth.
Howdy doody Butterflies!
This one’s gonna be the first makeup review on my blog.. and I decided to shake up things a bit. So instead of adding just a product description and swatch pictures.. I decided to create a look using the lipstick.
Now talking about the product.. This lipstick came to me along with one more product from qtrove.com as a part of our collaboration.
Qtrove is an online store with carefully curated products from small entrepreneurs across the country. They take special care in making these products natural, sustainable and consumer friendly.
They have something for everyone and their website covers a huge range of food products, beverages, bath and bodycare products , chocolates , artistic bags and watches, cosmetics, recycled products, hand made jewellery and handcrafted toys for kids.
So ever since I received this Lipstick by Youthopia , a seller on qtrove.. I have been using it pretty often. Not only because I have been crushing on brown and nude lip colors lately but also because this one has an added advantage of natural base .. so I don’t bother much about taking it off at the end of the day > 😛 😛
Packaging : It comes is a simple black plastic packaging with silver band .. it’s has a pull open cap in black .. nothing very fancy but the size of it is small and really cute . It’s one of the smallest lipsticks I own .
Size: Since the size was small my very first concern was the quantity.. but surprisingly the quantity was 4.3gms which is pretty much the average quantity for a lipstick.
Shade : Number is 412 and comes with the name Natural Base Earth Lipstick [buy now]
Texture : It is extremely smooth and soft and easily buildable giving a luxurious application on the very first swipe.
Finish: On application it is more like a creamy matte lipstick which has a subtle shine but changes to a more matte one in around an hour.
Color: It is richly pigmented and not transferproof . The color is attributed to natural vegetable colors. Speaking about the shade.. it is a brown shade with cool undertones more like a blue-black brown color. And even though its not the best color for a warm and olive toned skin like mine .. but somehow I really liked how it gave a a slightly ashy / frosty feel to the color.
Lasting : It stays on for an average of 4 hours when not eating .. which is good considering that is creamy and waxy in nature.
Composition : This is the best part of this lipstick.. It has 100% natural base and made up of clarified Butter, Kokum Butter, and Beeswax which are not just nourishing and moisturizing for the lips but also prevent the darkening that is caused by other chemical base lipsticks. Even the pigment in the lipstick is obtained using natural vegetable colors and other ingredients like Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Carnauba Wax, and Vitamin – E Acetate add to the goodness.
Fragrance : The lipstick smells of butter and camphor and fragrance is sweet earthy and has natural feel to it.
Price: It is Rs 300 for 4.3gms of the product.
VERDICT: I would rate it as a good lipstick not a great one, since it a purely natural, moisturizing with a good buildable pigment and nice quantity at a decent prize , but is not perfectly matte , easily breakable , easily transferable and staying power is quite less compared to a matte one.
Would I Buy another one ? Yes I would and recommend you to try it too .. hugely because it’s 100% natural and extremely pigmented and if you are regular user of lipsticks .. this one is protective and will prevent the darkening of the lips which other chemical based lipsticks may not.
Lastly coming to the makeup and the outfit-
Instagram feed has been filled with pictures of the on going coachella valley music festival and the outfits of various celebrities evoked the inner boho in me and I created this bohemian look.
For the outfit I chose to wear my crochet top that , I got from Goa last year , with a brown patiala from shoppers stop. I accessorised with a rose gold coin necklace, a rose gold septum ring and finger ring.
To complement the look I used Maybelline’s Lasting drama gel eye pencil in striking copper to line my eyes and make the dotted face art. For the eyeshadow I used the browns from Maybelline’s Nude palette. I completed the look with the swipe of the luxurious Qtrove lipstick in the shade Earth.
PS: I really enjoyed creating this look as well as creating the background tent.
I am always trying to bring up different looks for you guys.. hope you like this earthy boho look.. also don’t forget to click the like button and I am always waiting to here your ideas.. so please do comment. Lastly don’t forget to check the au-natural stuffs on Qtrove.com
Until next time.. enjoy the pics :), xoxo.
